Shakib Al Hasan to skip practice; to join squad in India

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will skip the team's final practice session before their departure for India, where they will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Tests.

Shakib, who is currently in the United States, is expected to join the squad in India on December 26, the day before the first ODI.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the news on Monday, December 23, saying that Shakib had requested permission to skip the practice session due to personal reasons.

"Shakib has requested permission to skip the practice session due to personal reasons," said BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus.

"We have granted his request and he will join the squad in India on December 26."

Shakib's absence from the practice session is not expected to have a major impact on the team's preparations for the India series.

The all-rounder has been in good form in recent months, scoring a century in the second Test against Pakistan in Dhaka earlier this month.

Bangladesh will be hoping that Shakib can continue his good form in India, where they will be looking to win their first ODI series in the country since 2015.
